The SEHEME LTTA followed by the International Project Meeting took place in Tunis, Tunisia, between 30 September and 3 October 2024.
The LTTA lasted for three days during which the partners had the opportunity to meet Tunisian students and migrants living in Tunisia.
The first day included the workshop “Journalism and Media Literacy for Informed Individuals” whose goal was to explore journalism’s role in social change and enhance media literacy for critical engagement.
The second day’s workshop “Fostering Multicultural Understanding for Stronger Communities” was devoted to promote multicultural awareness and collaboration through networking and knowledge sharing.
On the final day of the LTTA, the workshop “Public Speaking for Personal Empowerment and Integration” focused on developing public speaking skills to empower migrants and promote integration.
The students, migrants and the partners’ representatives engaged in all activities in a very enthusiastic manner and had the opportunity to exchange views and information about their own cultures and countries during the breaks and the activities themselves.
There was also time to learn about the history of Tunisia while visiting Carthage and Sidi Bou Said during a wonderful tour organised by our host PADIL. All the partners also had the opportunity to visit a migrant’s restaurant to learn about the difficulties and hardships he overcame to build a successful business.
As for the International Project Meeting, the work focused on the evaluation and revision of the different work packages and deliverables, the evaluation of the LTTA and next steps and future planning.
It was the perfect ending to a great week and we are all very thankful for the hard work that our partner in Tunisia, PADIL, put into the organisation of these two events and for their success. Thank you all!
